September 9, 2026: Taiwan is stepping up its global drive to establish itself as a leading asset management hub in Asia! The Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF), Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan, Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), and the UK-based Z/Yen Group convened international financial leaders in London to explore Taiwan’s growing asset management and sustainable finance opportunities.

Held in the City of London under the theme “Unlocking Taiwan’s Edge as Asia’s Asset Management Hub,” the Taiwan Financial Briefing Forum – London Edition brought together senior representatives from UK and international financial institutions, asset and wealth management firms, financial regulators and policy circles, and Taiwanese financial institutions located in the UK.

During the forum, Vice Chairperson Hsou-yuan Chuang introduced the development, innovation, and policy objectives of Taiwan's financial market from a policy perspective. The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) further shared the current progress of Taiwan's initiative to develop into an Asian asset management center, focusing on the resilience and growth potential of the capital market. The forum highlighted Taiwan’s financial market development and policy roadmap for an Asian asset management hub. The discussions spanned from capital market resilience and innovation to sustainable finance, ESG investment, and cross-border investment.

Senior participants included Hsou-Yuan Chuang, Vice Chairperson of the FSC; Dr. Yi-Cheng Kao, President of TABF; Sherman Lin, Chairman and CEO of TWSE; Brenda Hu, Senior Vice President of TWSE and COO of the Asian Asset Management Center Promotion Office; Dr Christine Chow, Board Member of Crystal Investment and Embera Partners, Christy Chiang, Deputy Representative of Taipei Representative Office in the United Kingdom; and Mike Wardle, CEO of Z/Yen Group.

TWSE’s Asian Asset Management Center Promotion Office outlined Taiwan’s policy roadmap and capital market strengths, while TABF shared insights into Taiwan’s sustainable finance transformation and ESG investment, highlighting opportunities to connect Taiwan with international markets. International experts also examined the opportunities and challenges facing asset management in Taiwan, followed by a panel discussion on “Taiwan’s Path Toward an Asian Asset Management Hub: Opportunities and Strategic Challenges.”

With its strong industrial base, resilient capital markets, and globally competitive semiconductor and technology sectors, Taiwan is well-positioned to deepen its role bridging Asian markets with global capital. Leveraging its AI-driven growth and asset management reforms, Taiwan is creating new opportunities for international investors and financial institutions.

London is one of the world’s leading financial and asset management centers, providing a strategic platform to strengthen Taiwan’s engagement with global investors and financial professionals, and deepening its connection with the UK and the international financial community.

Dr. Yi-Cheng Kao, President of TABF, said:
“Taiwan is strengthening its connection with global financial markets through financial market development, the Asian asset management hub initiative, sustainable finance, and international talent development. The London forum has provided an important platform to deepen dialogue with global financial institutions and investors. TABF will continue working with government agencies, financial institutions, and international partners to expand cross-border collaboration and support Taiwan’s financial industry and its connection to global markets.”

The forum is part of TABF’s broader international engagement to promote Taiwan’s financial market, expand global partnerships, and support the talent and capabilities needed for Taiwan’s next stage of internationalization in financial services.
