The Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) and the SAQ Swiss Association for Quality have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 3rd. This landmark collaboration marks a significant milestone and opens a new chapter in the field of international financial certification.
Switzerland’s leadership in private banking and high-net-worth wealth management is globally recognized, with the Certified Wealth Management Advisor (CWMA®) designation—developed by the Swiss banking industry and SAQ—adopted by many of the world’s top financial institutions. This strategic alliance will bring the idea and the knowledge of Switzerland’s gold-standard professional benchmarks to Taiwan, strengthening the nation’s talent base and accelerating its ambitions to become Asia’s next asset management hub.
The agreement gives TABF and SAQ the opportunity to jointly develop certification programmes, bringing together the experience and knowledge of both parties. The initiative will prioritize competency frameworks and oral evaluation techniques tailored to high-net-worth client advisory, delivering qualifications that are both market-driven and globally transferable. This collaboration is designed to position Taiwan’s financial professionals to not only compete but excel in the international wealth management arena.
“This partnership carries both strategic weight and symbolic importance,” said Dr. Yi-Cheng Kao, President of TABF. “By embedding Switzerland’s highest wealth management standards into Taiwan’s professional ecosystem, we are empowering our talent to not only match but exceed global expectations.”
The agreement coincides with TABF’s 45th anniversary and builds on its recent partnerships with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the Chartered Banker Institute in the UK. Together, these alliances reinforce TABF’s role as a trusted platform for advancing professional excellence and strengthening Taiwan’s position as a regional leader in financial education and certification.
