2024 Elite Awards: Recognizing Innovation in Finance and Setting Industry Standards

Regarded as the “Oscars” of finance in Taiwan, the Elite Awards were established by the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) in 2002 to enhance the development of Taiwan’s financial sector, foster healthy competition, and encourage industry innovation. The highest honor in Taiwan’s financial industry, they have become a benchmark of excellence.

This year, the 12^th Elite Awards were co-hosted by the Financial Supervisory Commission, Ministry of Agriculture, TABF, the Bankers Association, Taiwan Financial Services Roundtable, Joint Credit Information Center, and the National Credit Card Center. The award recipients were announced on November 1. A record-breaking 79 financial institutions submitted a total of 163 projects, highlighting the industry’s commitment to service quality and innovation. Following a rigorous three-month review process consisting of preliminary, secondary, and final evaluations, 32 institutions were awarded for 61 outstanding projects, underscoring the competitiveness of Taiwan’s financial industry.

In alignment with government priorities, this year’s Elite Awards introduced a special category, the Financial Inclusion Award - Anti-Fraud Initiative, encouraging financial institutions to contribute to financial inclusion and fraud prevention. The new category received 29 submissions, and 9 projects were awarded, reflecting the industry’s efforts to proactively combat fraud and promote inclusion. Additionally, the Special Contribution Award was presented to Mr. Tien-Mu Huang, Chairman of the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the sector.

The 2024 Elite Awards Ceremony is scheduled for mid-December at TABF’s Elite Hall, where leaders from the financial community, distinguished guests, and all award-winning institutions will gather to celebrate Taiwan’s achievements in finance. The Elite Awards not only honor outstanding institutions, but also inspire the industry to continuously advance, laying a strong foundation for its future growth.
